Why We Created NyChat: The Case for Zero-Signup Anonymous Conversations
4 min read•By Yash Shinde
The Friction of Communication
Every messaging service today requires verification: SMS numbers, emails, passwords, and verification codes. This creates high friction for a simple conversation.
Bypassing Accounts
We built NyChat to explore one simple idea: zero account setups. When you open NyChat:
- An ephemeral session key is created.
- You get a shareable URL to send to your counterpart.
- The moment either party closes the browser tab, all transaction cache is cleared.
Secure Tunnels
Security shouldn't mean high overhead. NyChat runs on WebRTC channels ensuring peer-to-peer data flows wherever possible, providing both high speed and privacy.
